My wife and I had a delightful stay at Parkhotel Altenburg, set on the beautiful Grosser Teich lake in the historic town of Altenburg. The warm welcome at reception and the spacious room were impressive, but the highlight was the on-site restaurant Da Angelo, surpassing our expectations with its quality Italian cuisine. Despite the Bahnoffish decor mentioned in some reviews, the delectable dishes won us over, making it our go-to spot for all our meals during our stay. The hotel also offers amenities such as free WiFi and a bar for a relaxing evening. The staff went above and beyond, and the convenient parking facilities added to the overall experience. Moreover, the elegant rooms with marble bathrooms provided a cozy retreat after a day of exploring the town's more than 1,000 years of history. The cultural highlights nearby, like the Lindenau Museum and West Saxon Textile Museum, added a touch of enriching experiences to our visit. Parkhotel Altenburg truly offers a blend of comfort, excellent dining, and cultural exploration, making it a wonderful choice for a stay in this charming Thuringian town.
